Lauren Cowles provides strategic advice and policy analysis to clients seeking government solutions in the areas of transportation, water resources, defense and homeland security, conservation, and communications. She helps trade associations, private sector businesses, and municipal entities understand the federal government and develop and implement strategies to address their needs before Members of Congress and federal agencies.
Lauren previously worked as a Legislative Director for McDonald Hopkins Government Strategies for over four years. On Capitol Hill, Lauren spent over eight years working for Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) on multiple legislative matters, including all matters related to the Senator’s work on the Senate Appropriations Committee. She also served as professional staff for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee where her responsibilities included customs and borders, law enforcement, flood insurance, disaster preparedness and response, immigration reform and national security.
Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Educational Studies from Emory University. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lauren now lives on Capitol Hill with her husband and two children.
