Peter J. Evich, a Vice President at Van Scoyoc Associates, combines his Capitol Hill experience with professionalism and hard work to help his clients achieve their Federal goals. 

Mr. Evich, who joined Van Scoyoc Associates in 2003, works on many issues on behalf of his broad client base.  His specialties include appropriations funding, renewable energy, health care, bio-defense, public infrastructure, research and development, transportation, water resources, and insular affairs.  Mr. Evich’s clients includes companies in the bio-technology, bio-energy, and defense sectors, in addition to cities, public water and transportation agencies, foreign entities, and a health-care trade association.

Mr. Evich joined Van Scoyoc Associates following a decade of work for Members of the House of Representatives.  During his time on Capitol Hill, Mr. Evich developed policy positions and legislative initiatives and worked on several major pieces of legislation, including annual appropriations bills, the Water Resources Development Acts of 1999 and 2002, the Transportation Equity Act of the 21st Century, and the Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century. 

Mr. Evich has helped his clients develop and implement effective strategies for affecting Federal policy outcomes, capturing Congressionally directed Federal funding, and identifying competitive funding opportunities within Federal agencies.  He also has provided advice and counsel in crisis management at the Federal level.  Mr. Evich’s successes on behalf of his clients include the awarding of large Federal grants for medical, defense, and renewable energy research and development, and he has helped obtain millions of dollars for infrastructure and economic development projects for cities, counties, and public water and transportation agencies. 

Among Mr. Evich’s other varied accomplishments, he assisted a trade association establish a statutory Federal reporting system for serious adverse events related to dietary supplements.  And he led the successful intervention of both Executive and Legislative Branch officials of the U.S. Government when one his client’s products was inadvertently seized by the Chinese during the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Mr. Evich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.  He also has a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  He is a native of Philadelphia.
