Van Scoyoc Associates Promotes Two; Hires One

WASHINGTON, DC – Van Scoyoc Associates (VSA) is pleased to announce that Laurie Katz and David Haines were both recently promoted to Associate Vice President in recognition for their outstanding client service. VSA is also excited to welcome Holten Stringer to our team.

Laurie Katz has been promoted to Associate Vice President where she will focus on continuing to service and build the firm’s higher education and research practice. Laurie specializes in agency program funding and appropriations work for a variety of the firm’s public and private higher education institutions and national coalitions. She works with Congressional staff and agency officials to better understand their priorities and advocate for client needs.

“We are thrilled to recognize Laurie’s exceptional work on behalf of our clients,” H. Stewart “Stu” Van Scoyoc, Founder and CEO of Van Scoyoc Associates, said. “Clients and colleagues have come to rely on Laurie for her expert analysis of funding and policy trends, particularly in the higher education space. Laurie is a valuable resource to us all.”

David focuses his advocacy on local government, transportation, infrastructure, and economic development issues, helping clients find their way through the often-complex federal bureaucracy.

“I’ve had the pleasure to work with David on behalf of several of our clients,” said Jennifer LaTourette, VSA’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “He is a tireless advocate who understands the details of both the policies and politics of the issues our clients care about. He is an asset to every client he works with.”
